On Friday, the Australian-born pop star released the bouncy charity single “ The Wall Will Fall” - which features an all-star music video cast including Andy Cohen, Ellen DeGeneres, Paul Stanley, Sammy Hagar and Richard Marx. Is this one of those late 80's CDs that's a 'keeper', or has it been bettered - sound quality wise?Rick Springfield is using his time in quarantine to do some good. This disc sounds just a 'tad' bright to me, but that just may be the way these songs sound. With a lot of 80's music, it's hard for me to be discerning. A single disc comp is plenty for me on Rick. The CD has all of RS's better known RCA chart hits, save for 3 that peaked in the 20's & which, frankly, I don't remember. I don't know if that refers to the LP, the CD or both - and I'm not really familiar with Mr. The credits list: 'Mastered by Greg Fulginiti at Artisan Sound'. The cover consists of a pic of Rick that is repeated in a 'tiled' arrangement, with each tile a different tint. Twelve tracks, no liners to speak of - just the song listing inside the fold of the 'booklet'. I found one from 1989, just called Rick Springfield's Greatest Hits. When we got home, I started digging thru my CDs - because I couldn't remember if I had a comp or not. I hadn't heard that song in ages & had forgotten what a fun track it was! (Can you believe it's been 29 years since it was released?) Even thru the crappy audio processing it sounded good & we were all doing a little air guitar in the car while it played. We were out for awhile this afternoon running some errands & Rick Springfield's 'Jessie's Girl' came on the radio.
