steam workshop content not downloading to disk

I've tried switching to three or four different download servers and clearing the download cache, nothing's worked so far. Steam download in general isn't the issue either as games download just fine. To reiterate, this isn't an issue with my broadband, the broadband is fine. Is the fact that it's currently using not using disk as part of the download like games do relevant? I've read some forums that seem to suggest that's just how they work. It's ridiculous, sometimes it will speed up and suddenly download a whole two or three megabytes at once but it will then instantly go back down to nothing. The thing is, the arma 3 workshop content is already downloaded and updated, but it'll flash in and out of 'In queue' to 'Updating' but it'll never actually download anything.

I'm having a major problem with downloading workshop content, currently only with Stellaris mods but I've not tried workshop content for other games so it could be limited to just Stellaris or it could be all workshop content.Įssentially what will happen is that despite getting up to 4MB/s when downloading full steam games, workshop content will download in bytes. So basically, what'll happen is I'll try downloading/updating a game on Steam, and it'll immediately stop and say (Disk write error) Because the download would be interrupted by arma 3 workshop content.
